Spotlight on The Bull Wall Dublin
Share
The Bull Wall or North Bull Wall is a stone wall built in the 1800’s to prevent Dublin Bay and Dublin Port from silting up.
It extends 3km into Dublin Bay and connects the mainland at Clontarf to Bull Island.
Just over the wooden bridge that leads from Clontarf Road you’ll find the Bull Wall swimming shelters.
There are male and female shelters to change in and also Public toilets close by, plenty of parking and steps leading into the water make the water very accessible for all ages.
We also need to give a shout out to Happy Out Café right beside the ladies shelter. It serves the usual hot and cold drinks you’d expect from a café but also some really delicious toasties and baps… not to mention amazing views across the bay.
Once you’ve had your dip, just around the corner is the magnificent Dollymount strand which stretches for 5km – so plenty of beach to explore.
We love this swim spot for it’s amazing views of the Skyline of Dublin.
