Spotlight on Aughris Beach and Pier, Sligo
Compartilhar
Aughris Beach is located on the northwest coast of Ireland, in County Sligo. It is a magnificent secluded beach that is known for its rugged beauty and stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Visitors to Aughris Beach and the adjacent Dunmoran Strand can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, including swimming, surfing, fishing and SUP. If all that is a bit to energetic for you why not relax with a drink in the wonderful Beach Bar Aughris head – a Traditional old Irish pub complete with Thatched roof.
There is a lovely cliff top walk part of Sligo Walks down to Aughris Pier from Aughris beach which is a fantastic spot for a swim. After your dip in the harbour you’d be crazy not to pick up a ice cream or treat from the charming Loveen's Tasy Treats at the end of the Aughris loop.
There are several guesthouses, self-catering cottages and B&B’S near the beach and you can also find a variety of restaurants and pubs in the nearby villages in the area, with the popular Easky only 20 minutes away and Sligo town 30 minutes away.
Overall, Aughris Beach and pier are beautiful and peaceful destinations that are perfect for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy some time in nature.
We love this swim spot for its peaceful seclusion
